Kitchen Renovation…

So, after over 3 years of putting up with the dreaded kitchen from hell I inherited on purchasing our little home we’ve finally decided to bite the bullet and get it renovated! I’m so excited!!

We had a lovely first family holiday this summer and what better way to finish it off by ripping out your kitchen right? Wrong! Oh the mess!

I took great joy from pulling those nasty tiles from the walls, I’ve had to put up with them for what seemed like a lifetime!  After gutting the entire room we chose to have a nice clean canvas to start from so then came the plasterers…they were pretty tidy… sort of, in a plasterer kind of way!

We purchased all our units from www.diy-kitchens.com in South Kirkby –  the showroom is amazing and the quality of the units and construction far outweigh the likes of B&Q and Wickes.

We got out Mistral worktops from www.karonia.com, it’s a solid surface which is strong and durable and will cope well with the rigours of day-to-day family life. One of the key features of this solid surface is its ability to be seamlessly jointed which gave a fabulous result on our U shaped kitchen.

Our flooring was a bargain from Topps Tiles, we were lucky enough to find a batch of the exact colour/ style we wanted in the offers section – and there was just enough for what we needed, we were definitely having a good day that day!
